Home from Home
Home From Home started in January 2023 with a grant from East Devon District Council and has been going from strength to strength. This is a drop in group at the Younghayes Centre in Cranbrook. Up until June 2023 we have welcomed 424 carers and children, supported 138 referrals. and made 352 lunches. We are open every Monday between 10am - 2pm and we offer FREE play, crafts, light lunch and cost of living advice. Everyone is welcome. From September 2023 we will be moving into EX5-Alive with added coffee mornings! Just submit an enquiry below if you need more information or drop on by
This project was born out of the Young Enterprise scheme where an ingenuous group of year 10 girls started a social enterprise. This project links the community through knitting and crocheting. It is inter generational, where young people can learn to knit and crochet and the older generations can feel less isolated in their community. All products made are donated and people can donate money to purchase the items. The assets are then either donated to other community projects. This allows the project to be fully sustainable in buying future materials. We are always looking for knitters and crocheters who want to be part of this project
Do you have a project idea to help the community?
We welcome everyone in the community who has an idea. All of our projects started from the views of the community. We have held various listening events across Cranbrook since 2019 and we aim to continue to listen to the community. Get in touch below and be part of building your community. You never know what might be the next great thing.
Cranbrook Culture Club
Culture Club started in January 2023 with a grant from Recovery Devon and the Devon Mental Health Alliance. Unfortunately Boy George doesn't attended but we have supported over 20 families in Cranbrook who wanted to make new friends. Our families are from all over the world and food is a major feature of our group. We have held a Curry and Quiz evening, celebrated different New Years and even had a potato party! Held twice a month on a Thursday between 5:30pm - 7:30pm. They have a Whats App group and just follow the link to the Facebook page
